We are a not-for-profit business supporting Indigenous artisans for over 6 years by being a platform for growth and recognition. From starting as just a gift shop at the Heritage Park in Saskatoon, we have now grown to 4 total locations in the province. With the addition of the gift shop out at the Dakota Dunes Resort and now the YXE Airport and finally our biggest creation the Wanuskewin Collective right on Broadway. The shop is where you can find local Indigenous made products along with Indigenous companies all across North America.

Meet Mercedes
Tansi, my name is Mercedes G. and I am an indigenous bead artist from Cumberland House Cree Nation on treaty 5 and I am the creator of “Pieces of Work by Mercedes”. I have been on my self taught beading journey since 2020 and it has become a huge part of my life; it is my medicine. I create a unique style inspired by other bead artists across turtle island and from my ancestors who came before me. My raised, 3D painting inspired pieces involve a contemporary spin to highlight the beauty of our culture. My goal is to saturate all of turtle island with the beadwork that residential schools once took from us by creating my own and inspiring others to begin their beading journey.
