Maynard Johnny Jr.

Maynard Johnny Jr. (Thii Hayqwtun – "Big Fire") is a Coast Salish and Kwakwaka'wakw artist of Penelakut and Cape Mudge ancestry. Known for his bold use of colour and contemporary approach to Northwest Coast design, Maynard creates artwork that bridges tradition and innovation. His work reflects a deep respect for Indigenous visual traditions while exploring new creative possibilities through modern design.
As his artistic reputation continues to grow, Maynard's work is gaining recognition beyond traditional art spaces, inspiring audiences through both his artwork and creative ventures.
