about the artist

dawn chartrand

Dawn Marie Chartrand is a visual artist, musician, and yoga instructor from Rolling River First Nation, Manitoba. A proud wife, mother of four, and grandmother of nine, she began painting in 2017, focusing on Indigenous-themed art as a form of wellness and self-care. She sells her work across Canada and leads painting and wellness workshops to share the healing power of creativity.

After a decade of practicing yoga and noticing the lack of Indigenous representation in classes, Dawn became a certified instructor in 2022 and founded OM-Digenous Yoga & Wellness. She now teaches several classes weekly, creating a safe, inclusive space for Indigenous people to experience the benefits of yoga.
