J.wapiskisiw is a plains Cree artist from Treaty 6 territory in Saskatchewan. J.wapiskisik started his art career in late 2021 with graffiti art and branched out to larger projects in 2023. J.wapiskisiw continues to create art with his vibrant colours, nature, stories through art that are rooted in his Indigenous worldview. J.wapiskisiw mixes two art styles of the vibrant colours of the graffiti art and the animals and traditional stories of his indigenous background.

about the artist

J. Wapiskisiw

J.wapiskisiw is a Plains Cree artist from Treaty 6 territory in Saskatchewan. He began his art career in late 2021 with graffiti and, by 2023, was working on projects with the City of Saskatoon and hosting youth art workshops.

He has collaborated with NHL and CFL athletes and continues to create vibrant, nature-inspired works rooted in his Indigenous worldview. His art blends the bold colors of graffiti with animals and traditional stories from his Cree heritage.
