Another common name for this hardy plant is “Trapper’s Tea” or Hudson’s Bay Tea”. Labrador Tea can be harvested year round and is utilized as a spice, medicine and herbal tea. The leaves are said to be high in vitamin C and traditionally were used as a substitute for black tea.
