Adam Lewis

Adam Lewis, born in 1982 and raised in Cape Mudge Village (We Wai Kai) on Quadra Island, BC, is a Ligwilda’xw (Kwakwaka’wakw) artist whose journey began with an early fascination for the museum near his childhood home. Though surrounded by traditional formline art, his creativity initially drew him to street art, where he spent over 25 years painting murals with aerosol, honing his freehand technique, color use, and composition. In late 2021, Adam shifted his focus to learning and practicing traditional Kwakwaka’wakw art forms, largely teaching himself while blending contemporary approaches. Creating art has become both his passion and lifelong pursuit, and he continues to dedicate himself daily to producing meaningful, culturally rooted works.
