Shannon Dunn is Anishinaabe and a member of Matachewan First Nation. She grew up in La Ronge, SK and has lived most of her life in Saskatoon. She currently lives on the prairies, Treaty 6 Territory. Her feather art is inspired by her great aunt Laura Flood. Shannon started creating her own pieces in hopes of carrying on her great aunts' legacy in some small way, and continuing on this beautiful art. The feathers she uses in her pieces are harvested from birds that her family hunts. Mainly upland fowl such as ruffed grouse, spruce grouse, sharp-tailed grouse, and pheasant.
