About the artist
Fancy Feline Eh
Charity Gadica is a proud Urban member of Peepeekisis Cree Nation and resides in Regina, SK, Treaty 4 with her husband Joey and 3 cats. She started beading in 2021 after the Kamloops Residential School findings as a way to connect with her cultural roots and take back what was taken from her grandmother Dorothy Pearl Pinay. Charity won the Canadian Screen Award in 2024 for her costume design in episode 5 of Littlebird on Crave/APTN about the 60's scoop that was filmed in Manitoba. She likes to create unique pieces that incorporate lots of colours, textures, felines and natural elements.
About Wanuskewin collective
Our shops are a not-for-profit organization that have been apart of the Wanuskewin Heritage Park for over 30 years now. With our earnings going back into the park and other organizations such as ones involved in survivors of Residential schools as well as families of Missing Murdered Indigenous Women; we are fortunate and proud to be apart of Treaty 6 Territory.
