Wanuskewin Collective is happy to introduce our first Every Child Matters orange shirt designed by Ookus D. of Buffalo River Dene Nation in collaboration with us. Inspired by her personal family history and the children who were lost during the 1937 Beauval Epidemic, the design reflects remembrance, family, culture and hope. The children holding hands symbolize connection, while their gaze toward the stars represents those who have passed and hope for a better future. Through this meaningful artwork, Ookus reminds us that Truth and Reconciliation is not a trend or a single day—it is an ongoing commitment to remember, learn, and create change.

100% percent of the proceeds will be donated to Residential School Survivors.

T-Shirt Care Instructions
To help maintain the quality, colour, shape, and longevity of your t-shirt, please follow these care instructions:
Washing
  • Wash in cold water to help prevent shrinking and fading.
  • Turn the t-shirt inside out before washing to help protect prints, graphics, and colours.
  • Use a gentle cycle to minimize wear and tear.
  • Wash with similar colours to help prevent colour transfer.
  • Use a mild detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners, as they may damage the fabric or printed designs.
Drying
  • Air dry whenever possible to help maintain the shape and prevent shrinkage.
  • If using a dryer, use a low-heat setting.
  • Avoid high heat, as it can cause shrinking and may damage printed designs.
Ironing
  • If ironing is necessary, turn the t-shirt inside out.
  • Use a low-heat setting and avoid placing the iron directly on printed or graphic areas.

Ookus D. is a Denesuline artist from Buffalo River Dene Nation in Treaty 10 territory, Northern Saskatchewan. Her work spans digital ink illustration, bold pop typography, and wildfire art - all rooted in her cultural identity and childhood in the norh.

Our shops are a not-for-profit organization that have been apart of the Wanuskewin Heritage Park for over 30 years now. With our earnings going back into the park and other organizations such as ones involved in survivors of Residential schools as well as families of Missing Murdered Indigenous Women; we are fortunate and proud to be apart of Treaty 6 Territory.
